COMMENTS:
I've been down here in Sacramento now since 98 and LOVE it. It's actually a lot like Vancouver how it's fairly spread out and is mostly a farming community. People are cool too unlike So. Cal. You're pretty much 90 minutes to two hours from everything (San Francisco, Napa, Santa Cruz, Tahoe, Reno, Yosemite, Shasta Lake, and of course like 20 ski resorts including Squaw, Kirkwood, Heavenly, Sugar Bowl, etc...)! I've been lucky to get into buying a couple homes a while back down here before the market went nuts, so some of my time goes to upkeep of the rentals. Play a lot of competitive softball in the Spring through Fall months and have actually traveled quite a bit with that (Iowa, Illinois, Maui, Kauai, Tahiti, Oahu, etc.....). Lot of my winter still is set up around skiing/boarding though and I still have 'Prairie' friends come down to ski (Eric Dubee, Dave Ortner, Nicole Dubee, etc....). So that's the mini scoop!
