Bryce Allen Powers, 20, died in a homicide January 13, 2001, in Battle Ground.

Powers was born June 5, 1980 in Corpus Christi, Texas, worked as a courtesy clerk at the Battle Ground Safeway store, and lived in Clark County for 4 1/2 years.

Powers graduated from Prairie High School in 1998 and attended Clark College. He enjoyed working on cars, had a mechanical aptitude, and wanted to do research on alternative fuels for internal combustion engines. Powers enjoyed fixing things. He also enjoyed talking and eating everything in sight. He loved his dogs Zang and Tia. He liked sporting activities and enjoyed weight training, baseball, wrestling, and wakeboarding. His favorite sports teams were the Tennessee Titans and the Houston Oilers.

Survivors include parents Bret and Kim Powers of Amboy, sister Kim Gabbert of Colorado, and grandparents Donald and Shirlene Brown and Clyde and Geneva Powers, all of Colorado.  Layne's Funeral Home, Battle Ground, was in charge of arrangements.
