Hello kids. I hope your August is cooler then your June/July has been. I keep hearing it's HOT our there.
Well, I am sending a photo of my family on our vacation to the west. We flew into Vegas (115 degrees) I told my husbands grandparents that since we were in SinCity we were really feeling what "hell" feels like - Dang is was hotter than Haities .
Here we are on our way to Moab Utah. We stopped at what is called "Dead Horse Point" It's where the cowboys would take all the wild mustangs, take the ones they wanted and the others would just die either up onthe hill, or starring into the lake (miles and miles below) it looks like a huge horseshoe the way the lake was formed. If you want to see that photo I'll send it to those who want to see it..email me and let me know. We are just standing on one of the rocks (obviously) for a cool setting. (me with short legs it took awhile for me to get up, I forgot how to climb).
We had a wonderful vacation...after Moab, UT we head on to Colorado where my inlaws now reside. They live in Edwards..and it's gorgeous there if I do say so myself...We relaxed, went hiking to Hanging Lake - very beautiful up there too. I only made it half way up...it's ok...the altitude killed me.
All in all we had a wonderful time as a family. The boys had so much fun..and they both said Vegas was the high light (who wouldn't though all the glits/glamour). They loved Colorado though too and spending time w/nana and papa.
Happy Birthday to our August babies..I know Jeff Hartung and John Sutton are some, I am sure there are more (they turn 41) happy bday you old men (just kidding, you know I love ya both). To those of you who have not turned 40 enjoy it.
I hope that Bret Robb and Barb Watermeier had a wonderful time with their parties. Enjoy life kids.
My boys are busy now with football, working etc. My oldest will be a Junior so we will be looking at Colleges in the Spring. YIKES and I have an 8th grader.
Time is going by fast, and it's all good, I just feel as if there are times I want to slow the time down, but knowing that I can't. What they choose to do I must support right?
I hope that the Warner children are doing well in College let us know Krista.
Well, I must close now, I need to go finish up somethings - enjoy your month, for school will start soon (yeah for moms yuck for kids). So enjoy the rest of your heatwave ;-)
